About Hill

Hill Spriggins was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana where she attended the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. She graduated from New York University in 2023 with a BFA in fine arts. Hill currently works and resides in Brooklyn, New York.

Hill creates work with the intention of fostering a sense of belonging. Painting has always been a source of comfort, connection, and refuge throughout Hill’s life. Each piece is made as an open invitation—one that encourages viewers to feel seen, welcomed, and included.

Through color, form, and material, her work aims to provide a sense of ease and offer a momentary escape from the weight of everyday life. Hill hopes to transport viewers into a world shaped by optimism and openness, and ultimately allow them to step out of their own thoughts and into a shared space of feeling.

In response to an increasingly negative and divisive world, Hill views art as a unifying force. Rather than emphasizing separation, she focuses on connection, shared humanity, and collective experience. Ultimately, Hill hopes the work brings people together and creates moments of relief, joy, and inclusion through painting.
